Because of how many seniors experience mental health problems, doctors stay on the ball when it comes to treatments. Most of the time seniors are treated for their mental health issues in the same way as younger people. If depression is the issue there are prescription medications such as Prozac, Wellbutrin, and Cymbalta. Sometimes seniors are encouraged to visit psychiatrists to talk out their issues.
