With A Reverse Mortgage, Do I have To Pay Anyting On My House?

A reverse mortgage is a loan for the homeowner that allows equity of a house to be turned into cash payments to the homeowner.

A homeowner will receive cash payments without obligation to pay anything back.



As the reverse mortgage is made available only to adults who reached 62 years of age in order to receive cash advances, they will not have to repay anything as long as they remain residing in their homes. The loan becomes due when the house is being sold or foreclosed, so in case of death of the last surviving spouse, their heirs can decide to sell the house or repay debt, which includes loan, interest and fees or. They can also let the house to go through the foreclosure. Only if a homeowner lives in his house for a lifetime since signing up for a loan, will he benefit from the reverse mortgage loan.
