Why Can’t I Get Medigap Insurance?

Though Medicare plays a very important role in giving you insurance cover, there are various areas it can’t cover. This is the reason some people opt for other sources for insurance to cover the gap that Medicare falls short on. This is known as Medigap and is what we will be looking at in this article.

Which Medigap Insurance Should You Buy?

There are up to 12 Medigap insurance covers available for you to choose from. These are named with letters from the alphabet starting from A to L. As you move through the letters, there is added coverage. For instance, Medigap A will lack coverage found in Medigap B and so on and so forth. All you have to do is choose the one that best fits you.

How Can I Get Medigap Insurance?

There are loads of places you can go for this insurance but the internet provides you with more options. The internet will also provide you with information on how to go about the whole thing, making it easier for you to pick the right one.

What Are The Limitations?

Though this is a very important policy for everyone, it is however limited to certain people. There are states where this is not readily available to everyone. This is because when Congress passed federal laws that were to standardize the Medigap policy, they failed to mention that each state would have to cover people under the age of 65 whether on dialysis or disability. This makes it difficult for those under the age of 65 get the cover in most states. There are however some states that have taken the step and made their own laws concerning this matter and people under this age can have access to the insurance.
