The beneficiary can also commit fraud by presenting the wrong information to the provider for claim purposes.

It is reported that the cost to U.S taxpayers for fraudulent Medicare claims is $60 Billion a year, and is one of the most profitable crimes in America.

What types of providers commit Medicare fraud?

The first ones we think of when we talk about providers of Medicare services is the countless number of doctors who report fraudulent claims to Medicare each year. On top of those offices are the pharmacies that are misusing the Medicare system by submitting claims for medications that they did not even dispense.

Other fraudulent entities.

Then there are the people who find recruit patients, make lists of Medicare clients, make lists of doctors and look on the internet to find other Medicare scams.
