When I Go For My Medicaid Interview, What Should I Take With Me?

The application process for Medicaid requires a personal interview at the Medicaid office where the applicant has to provide documents to prove eligibility.

Personal Medicaid interview

The application for Medicaid may be filled out and then submitted through the mail, but a personal interview must always be held between the applicant and Medicaid worker. Another representative or relative may be present at the interview when the applicant is not able to be there due to a mental or physical condition. The interview is held to determine eligibility and typically conducted in a local Medicaid office. If you happen to be disabled or live in a rural area, it is sometimes possible to conduct the interview over the telephone.

If any documents are not present or if any additional documents are needed, they are required to be submitted within 10 days following the interview. It is important to keep copies of all the documents that are submitted along with the Medicaid application.
