My wife and I are 52. She contributes to an employer matching 401K and I am employed by the state with a similar set up. We would like to get our funds out of there present investments and into non-stock/ETF's or other markets formats and into commodities such as precious metals. Can this be done? Can state pension funds be changed? How will penalties effect us and how long does it take to make such a change? Thanks for your time, Jeff.
